JS96: Attractive slate and stony aromas here with a sense of depth and strongly terroir-focused style. Abundant ripe dark fruit with a suave, plush and very deep-set palate. Long, classic, seamless and powerful Pomerol. Try from 2023.
JD93: The 2016 Château Petit-Village checks in as 77% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc, 9% Cabernet Sauvignon brought up in 60% new French oak. This deeper ruby/plum-colored effort offers a classic bouquet of red and black currants, damp earth, violets, and forest floor. It's supple, beautifully textured, and seamless on the palate, with integrated acidity and fine tannins. It's a beautiful wine to drink over the coming 10-15 years or more.
