Domaine Belleville farms 18 hectares of vineyards located from Gevrey Chambertin to Mercurey, in organic conversion since the end of 2017. Each wine produced represents a single plot of the estate. La Crée’ refers to a stony slope situated to the east of the village of Rully, formerly part of the La Pucelle premier cru. This shows beautifully toasted brioche and nice length. From 25+-year-old vines.
JS91: Quite a shy, flinty nose that develops attractive orange-blossom character with some aeration. But this has plenty of depth and a serious tannin structure that gives it quite some weight. Long, chalky finish that is just a touch on the austere side. From 2.7 hectares. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.
