VM92-94: The 2021 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru, their only vineyard on the north side of Chambolle, includes around 50% whole bunches this year. The stems are discretely enmeshed, present, but allow the fruit and terroir to speak. I admire the freshness and joie-de-vivre here. The palate is medium-bodied with finely chiselled tannins, vivid black cherry fruit laced with orange zest/blood orange towards its energetic finish. Bon vin.
WA91-93: Aromas of sweet berries, cherries, vine smoke, petals and forest floor preface the 2021 Bonnes Mares Grand Cru, a medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy palate that's quite muscular and layered in the context of the vintage, with powdery tannins, lively acids and a saline finish.
