Ehren Jordan gained experience in France and at Turley Wine Cellar before starting Failla (named after his wife) on 85-acres on the Sonoma Coast, about 2 miles from the Pacific next to Hirsch Vineyards. This is a fantastic example of Failla's strict selection and high quality. The flinty palate is bright and textured with balancing notes of toasted walnuts, fennel, and a chiseled minerality. VM92: The 2021 Chardonnay (Sonoma Coast) is fabulous. Deep and layered, with remarkable density, the 2021 is seriously impressive at this level, or any level, for that matter. Lemon confit, chamomile, spice and apricot are some of the many notes that grace this exquisite appellation-level Chardonnay from Failla.
