Elisabetta Geppetti took over the small Le Pupille estate in coastal Maremma from her family in 1995. With the help of the legendary Giacomo Tachis, the pioneering winemaker at Antinori, she quickly established a reputation for turning out some of the region’s greatest wines.
JS92: Lots of grapefruit and melon with some apricot. Full-bodied and really tangy, with sliced apple, apricot and crushed stone. Crunchy, with lovely energy. Sauvignon blanc, petit manseng, gewurztraminer and semillon. Drink now.
WA92: A popular blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Petit Manseng, Traminer and Semillon, the 2021 Poggio Argentato shows floral notes, stone fruit and a hint of pasty cream. A small part of the wine sees wood, but the wine mostly revolves around fresh Mediterranean aromas of citrus, sea salt and fragrant peach.
