Fattoria La Gerla was founded in 1976 by the late Sergio Rossi. The estate only farms Sangiovese. Poggio gli Angeli is made from a vineyard in Castelnuovo that La Gerla rents and fully farms. The vines are 15 years old, so they prefer to make a younger, fresher wine from them. This Sangiovese is fermented in stainless steel and spends 6 months in Slavonian oak botti. 15,000 bottles produced.
