Peay Vineyards sits above a river gorge in the northwestern corner of the “true” Sonoma Coast. Vanessa Wong and her husband started the vineyard from scratch in 1996. Vanessa’s winemaking resume includes Peter Michael Winery, Chateau Lafite-Rothschild, and Hirsch Winery. Ama Estate is bold, ripe, and full of fruit. Look for notes of mint, spice, and sweet red cherry. A super compelling Pinot Noir. Organic.
VM95: The 2021 Pinot Noir Estate Ama is bursting with dark cherry, plum, lavender, dark spice and leather. Ample and creamy in feel, the 2021 offers tons of depth married to the energy of the West Sonoma Coast. Ama is the most overt of the Peay Pinots. The 2021 is lights out.
WA94: The 2021 Estate Pinot Noir Ama is powerful and perfumed this vintage. It offers aromas broody aromas of red and black cherries and aniseed with top notes of saline and citrus peel. The medium-bodied palate is chalky and refreshing with generous berry fruit and floral accents, and it has a long, spicy finish.
