WA93: Available in numbered bottles, the 2019 Barolo Cannubi shows ripe fruit with aromas that recall dried cherry skin or plum. That ripeness gives this wine a slightly heavier approach with sweet notes of almond paste, white chocolate and licorice. Some 16,000 bottles were made, but some of the wine was put aside; and we can expect a Riserva edition of this vintage to be released in 2025.

JD93: Spicy with licorice, the 2019 Barolo Cannubi pours a rich ruby/garnet, with aromatics of baked cherry, pine, and savory porcini. This medium to full-bodied red is persistent and tension-packed, with ripe gripping tannins, a forward-driving acidity, and mouthwatering salinity. Allow it another couple of years and drink 2025-2040.
