When Donn and Molly Chappellet settled on the steep slopes of Pritchard Hill in 1967, they were among the first modern pioneers to champion high-altitude mountain winemaking in Napa Valley. While the estate's flagship Cabernet is built for long-term cellaring, the Mountain Cuvée is crafted to showcase that same rocky, volcanic pedigree in a far more approachable style. A Cabernet-led Bordeaux blend that marries estate fruit with select high-elevation vineyards, it brings wonderful balance and restraint to the glass. It opens with aromas of dark plum, wild blackberry, and sweet cocoa and spice, backed by subtle notes of roasted coffee and crushed graphite. A remarkably reliable Napa red.
