Founded in 1759 by Joseph Laffitte, an attorney of the King of France, this is one of the great Cru Bourgeois values from the gravel plateau of Saint Est�phe. The wine is beautifully balanced with fresh layers of blackberry, raspberry, and graphite. Focused mineral notes carry through to a long finish. 70% Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot and Cabernet Franc, aged 12 months in oak. 

VM92: The 2018 Laffitte-Carcasset is gorgeous, just as it was from barrel. This mid-weight Saint-Est�phe impresses with its nuance and delineation. Bright red fruit, iron, menthol, anise, cedar and rose petal lend uncommon complexity, while fine grained tannins give the wine proportion and drive. This polished, under the radar gem is a real delight. Laffitte-Carcasset is an especially delicate wine for the appellation.
