Founded in 1867, Contratto holds the distinction of crafting Italy’s very first vintage sparkling wine, quietly aging its bottles in historic subterranean cellars carved directly into Canelli limestone. Today, under the stewardship of the Rivetti family, the estate remains a benchmark for Piedmont’s high-altitude sparkling appellation, Alta Langa. Crafted from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grown on steep mountain slopes, this Pas Dosé receives extended lees aging and zero added sugar at disgorgement. The result is a sparkling wine of remarkable clarity and poise, offering refined notes of crisp green apple, lemon peel, and brioche over a fine mousse and a dry, mineral finish.
