Served from ex-chateau magnum at Taillevent. This has a similar nose to the bottle that Olivier Bernard pulled out last year but with more definition and clarity: notes of blackberry, black olive, undergrowth and then a hint of damson jam. Very focused. The palate is full-bodied, dense and slightly surly at first but opening up nicely with black, tarry fruit, black olive and that citrus element lending it freshness and vitality. It remains quite tannic and burly on the finish, suggesting that it would benefit from further ageing! Drink 2012-2030. Tasted September 2009. (Wine Advocate, 92 Points)
