Domaine La Suffrène is one of Bandol’s most historic estates, producing wines from vineyards that have been in Cédric Gravier’s family for generations. Bandol is one of the oldest appellations in France, and Gravier’s family was among its earliest growers. The estate's 52 acres include the only vines planted atop the hill called “Les Lauves,” plus plots of 70-year-old Carignan and 50-year-old Mourvédre. Vines have been farmed organically for nearly twenty years. These beautifully sculpted bold reds, fresh rosés, and dynamic whites are among the region’s best values.
The classic rosé is made from Mourvèdre, with splashes of Cinsault, Grenache, and Carignan. It features subtle citrus, stone fruit, flowers, and herbs. Concentrated and sublimely crisp.
WA91: Aromas of grapefruit, citrus, herbs and red berries preface the 2023 Bandol Rose from Domaine La Suffrene, a medium-bodied, delicate and juicy rosé with an iodine-tinged, mineral and fresh finish. It is perfect for summer food. This is a blend of 40% Mourvèdre and the rest Cinsault, Grenache and Carignan.
