JD97; Even better, the 2016 Coeur a Coeur is a blend of equal parts Semillon and Sauvignon that has a crazily complex bouquet of melon, ripe limes, orange peel, and crushed rocks. Deep, nicely concentrated, and balanced on the palate, with beautiful fruit and ample underlying acidity as well as concentration, it’s certainly in the running for one of the top Bordeaux Blanc blends coming out of California today. Bravo!
WA95: A 50/50 blend of Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc, the 2016 Proprietary White Coeur a Coeur opens with lovely honeycomb, ginger, mandarin peel and allspice notes with a core of lemon curd, warm grapefruit and applesauce plus touches of fennel and elderflower. Medium-bodied, the palate reveals layers of honeyed citrus fruit and spices, with a satiny texture and long, lively, mineral-laced finish. 172 cases produced.
