The 2022 Bordeaux Vintage Has Arrived!
The Valdicava estate dates to 1953 when Bramante Abbruzzese returned to the property in Montalcino where his ancestors were sharecroppers centuries before. In 1967 he founded the Consorzio di Brunello. Later, his grandson Vincenzo transformed Valdicava into one of Montalcino’s most collectible producers. The wines are powerful yet elegant, typically layered with dark fruits, roses, graphite, and silky tannins. He maintains quality year after year with low yields and organic farming.
JS98: Attractive aromas of balsamic, tea, dark berry, walnut and coffee bean. Full-bodied, yet tight and very intense with ripe tannins that are fine and reserved. Racy and polished. Beautiful length to this wine. Needs at least two to three years to come. Try after 2024.
