Puligny-Montrachet Cailleret has possibly the most complex terroir in Burgundy, a portion of which was made part of the Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru in 1939. Chartron’s expression is full-bodied and layered with golden wheat and stone fruit flavors. Domaine Jean Chartron is one of the prominent, historic landowners in Puligny-Montrachet. It uniquely boasts three prominent walled monopoles: Clos de la Pucelle, Clos du Caillerets, and Chevalier-Montrachet Clos des Chevaliers. Jean-Michel Chartron now runs the estate with his sister Anne-Laure Chartron Malassagne. They produce beautifully generous wines that will make you smile.
